Dennis N. McGregor, ONR.

Biography:

Mr. McGregor graduated from Catholic University in 1965 and 1966 with B.E.E. and M.E.E. degrees.  His experience spans approximately fifteen years working in industry, twenty-one years working for the Naval Research Laboratory and has recently joined the Office of Naval Research.  From 1966 to 1971, Mr. McGregor was a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at Computer Sciences Corp., where he was engaged in the modeling and analysis of military communication systems.  He performed studies in satellite multiple access, error control coding, propagation and interference effects, surveillance and navigation systems, and anti-jam design.  In 1971, he joined ORI, Inc., where he held several technical and management positions including principal scientist, through 1981.  While at ORI he served as project manager on a variety of terrestrial and satellite communication system studies for NASA, DoD, and commercial applications.  In 1981, Mr. McGregor joined the Naval Research Laboratory as Head of the Network Research and Simulation Section.  In 2002, he joined the Office of Naval Research as Program Manager for Communications and Networking.
 
Mr. McGregor is a Senior Member of the IEEE and has held several Communication Society positions for the Washington Chapter.  During his career Mr. McGregor has either authored or co-authored over 50 scientific technical reports and over 50 conference papers, journal articles and presentations at technical symposia.  Most of these publications deal with robust, wireless communications and networking concepts.  Mr. McGregor has received three Alan Berman Research Publication Awards while at NRL and two conference paper awards while employed in industry.  He is currently a Navy representative on numerous DoD panels in the communications areas.
